I have painted these three paintings for the Society of Women Artists’ 158th Annual Exhibition in
London. Although the exhibition is not until 24th Sept., I need to submit them by Sat. 27th July so it was full steam ahead on the painting front.
The first is called “Sunkissed nose and sandy toes” 55x55cm Acrylic on board. As the thermometer creeps up to 30 degrees here I think rather more than noses are getting sun-kissed at the moment!
The second is “The invitation” 33x33cm acrylic on canvas. Curiosity to share two invitations and see if they are the same are linking two women here.
The third is “The Tulip Garden”.
How wonderful tulips are and a friend of mine will only grow white ones. This group of women are of one intent – to create a white tulip display. 46x56cm Acrylic on canvas. SOLD
I hope you can come to the exhibition at the Mall Gallery, The Mall, London SW1 24th -29th September.
Do you ever paint in watercolor as that is he medium I use and would appreciate any tips . Thank you
Carol
Watercolour is not really my medium. I used to use it and often use Caran D’ache soluble watercolour crayons when I go out sketching as they are easy to transport. Most of my work is done in layers so acrylic is the easiest here.
