A fortunate but unplanned meeting. Acrylic on canvas 40.5x 40.5 cm. SOLD
Girl Power
Another new painting for the new year. The tandem provides the perfect vehicle to take turns to burn calories. SOLD
Abruzzo Beach
Now that the weather is making us think of holidays and beaches, I thought I would put this painting on my website. Inspired by a very busy scene last year on the public beach near Montisilvano, Italy, I was fascinated by how much interaction – mostly non-verbal, was happening around me. Acrylic 53.5 x 53.5 cm
Feeling the Rhythm
The two women are in perfect harmony. Without words they communicate and blend into the rhythm of their paddling. Acrylic on wood 40 x 30cm SOLD
Paddling and Dreaming
This is a modern take on the legend of Leda and the Swan. As they quietly paddle down the stream, they are oblivious to the danger the swan presents. The small figure in the background tries in vain to alert them. Oil on board 49 x 36cm SOLD
Dreaming of the sea
One of my few lino prints. I wanted a simple image that conveyed the relationship between the girl, the shells and the pattern of the water. Linoprint 18.5 x 23.5cm
The judges saw a serene performance
Whilst the synchronized team are all smiles on the surface, as they slide under the water, out of the sight of the judges, a swimmer takes her revenge on a team member for a poor move Acrylic on canvas 30 x 30cm SOLD
The Race
The riders raced through the Yorkshire area of Buttertubs and I started to think about the impact on the small villages up there when this famous cycle race came through the villages. After doing many drawings of the cyclists and the Yorkshire hills I settled for this village composition. Oil on canvas 41 x 52cm SOLD
Going for Gold
This painting was for the Olympic road race that went passed Hampton Court. I saw the riders as not only forming a coloured pattern as they whizzed by but also a group with strong dynamics flowing between them. SOLD
Once around the island
In my painting the swimmers are like porpoises. Smooth, sleek and at one with the water. How I envy people who can swim like this. Oil on canvas 54 x 73cm
