“Work, Love, Rest” has been accepted for the Society of Women Artist 161st Annual Exhibition 7th Sept. at the Mall Gallery in London.
This painting is the last in my new series for 2022. I starting to think about the many repetitive jobs women do every week – the same T Shirt going through the wash again, the exercise class that cannot possibly have come round, the cooking we do because we want to give our families something wholesome and tasty and not reach for a packet. For many, squeezed in is work and attention to loved ones. Life is rich and busy but in there somewhere are a few hours to ourselves, to relax and indulge in a good book with a friend.
Acrylic & collage on wood panel. 40 x 40cm
Your work is beautiful Angela – I love the way you describe your creative process and the story behind each painting. This ‘work love’ series landed with me -in a lovely way.
Do you think anyone can learn to paint? Or, do you need to have a baseline talent?
Erica. Thanks for your nice comments! I think we all have creative ability. Some choose to school it, others are free and abandoned. The good thing is that the process of creating art is soooo.. therapeutic. I am never as happy when I am involved in a painting!
